Model 971LM Security + Single Function Remote Control

The 900 Series remote control works only with door openers and light control having an orange “learn” button. The code between the remote control and the receiver changes with each use, randomly accessing over 100 billion new codes.  This can be found where you see the antenna wire hanging from the motor head (you may have to take the lens cover off). If antenna wire is not hanging from motor head then you have an external receiver which is a black box approx. 6" x 2" mounted somewhere in the garage with a antenna wire hanging from it (pop off cover to find Learn Code Button).

Instructions are described below:

1. Press and release the “learn” button on the motor unit. The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds.
2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the hand-held remote.
3. Release the button when the motor unit light blinks. It has learned the code. If light bulbs are not installed, two clicks will be heard.

To Erase All Codes From Motor Unit Memo

To deactivate any unwanted remote, first erase all codes:

Press and hold the “learn” button on motor unit until the learn indicator light goes out (approximately 6 seconds). All previous codes are now erased. Reprogram each remote or keyless entry you wish to use.

·         DO NOT install transmitter unless the door operator’s safety reverse works as required by the door operator’s manual.

·         Wall control must be mounted in sight of door, at least 5 feet above floor and clear of moving door parts.

·         Keep people clear of opening while door is moving.

·         DO NOT allow children to play with the transmitter or door operator.

If safety reverse does not work properly:

·         Close door then disconnect operator using the manual release handle.

·         DO NOT use transmitter or door operator.

·         Refer to Door and Door Operators Owner’s Manuals before attempting any repairs.

The Remote Control Batteries:

The Lithium batteries should produce power for up to 5 years. To replace, pry open case with visor clip or screwdriver. Insert batteries positive side up (+). Dispose of old batteries properly.
